Running That Extra Mile
Back To News >>
During the last couple of
months here at NSR we have been involved in three
challenging events that attracted competitors in peak
physical condition.
A team was sent out in June
to cover the London to Brighton Cycle Ride. We were
responsible for providing a PA system to cover the finish line
approach, which included close to twenty speakers. In
addition we also set-up a PA system that covered an
information point at the end of the route, which provided a
meeting point for the cyclists to re-unite with colleagues,
family and friends.

Then in July 13,000
corporate runners congregated in Battersea Park for the JP
Morgan Corporate Challenge run, which took corporate runners
on a 5km course circumnavigating the park, providing healthy
competition and huge support for a variety of charities. Our
involvement included supplying start and finish line PA
systems, mega phones for the route stewards plus two 2-tier
production control units for the production team.

Later in the same month
London played host to the Standard Chartered Great City Race,
which welcomed 5,000 city workers who lined up to run through
London’s square mile, passing iconic landmarks such as St
Paul’s Cathedral and the Bank of England on their way. The
assembly area was situated at the Honourable Artillery Company
(HAC), with a combined start and finish line just outside the
HAC gates. The NSR team rigged a PA system at the
start/finish line in addition to PA systems that covered the
Goodie Bag/Medal area, the bandstand and the London Marathon
hospitality office reception.

Although none of us donned a
pair of shorts and trainers to compete we were proud to be a
part of these high profile events that keep Brits fit!
